Storage Structure Diagram: SAP EWM enables businesses to define and map the physical structure of the warehouse in detail. It also matches products according to my storage types and consolidates them under one warehouse number.

Handling Unit: One of the biggest features of SAP EWM is the Transport Unit. The transport unit is the combination of products or packages depending on a feature. The transport unit can be combined according to the following features.

  • Item number
  • Size
  • Weight
  • Status
  • Quantity
  • Packets
  • Packaging Features

Batch Management: With the Batch Management function, SAP EWM stores products by dividing them into lots according to their properties. (For example country of origin, expiration date) These created parties are managed as master data and centrally in the SAP ERP system.

Serial Numbers in Handling Units: Serial numbers are generally used to clearly identify products. With SAP EWM serial number management, all processes related to products can be easily tracked through the system.

Goods Receipt With Quality Inspection: SAP EWM provides Quality Management function. With the QM function, you can check whether all the goods coming to the warehouses meet the quality criteria.

Deconsolidation: The deconsolidation function is used to divide the transport units into different transport units. This deconsolidation is necessary when the transport unit contains different products and these products need to be placed in different storage compartments.

Manual Entry: In this storage strategy, the system does not automatically define a storage partition. When a storage task is created, the target storage bin is entered manually.

Fixed Storage Bin: This storage strategy is used when a product is to be placed on fixed storage addresses of a storage type.

General Storage: General storage is a storage strategy in which a single storage address is defined for each storage partition. This storage strategy is used to find a general storage address.

Addition to Existing Stock: This storage strategy is to put a product into the relevant storage addresses that are currently available. The prerequisite of this storage strategy is that sufficient free capacity is available at the relevant storage address.

Empty Storage Bin: In this storage strategy, the system suggests an empty storage address. It can be used to support randomly organized warehouses where products are stored in separate storage compartments. This strategy is particularly suitable for high bay storage and shelf storage.

Near Fixed Picking Bin: This storage strategy is generally used in cases where products are placed in the backup storage area. This strategy is designed for cases where backup storage addresses of a backup storage type are placed directly above fixed storage partitions of the aggregation storage type (nearby backup).

Pallet Storage: With this placement strategy, the system processes different types of Transport Unit (HU) (eg pallets) and allocates them to a suitable storage address.

Bulk Storage: Products such as tires, glass products and beverages that come in large quantities and require large amounts of storage space are usually stored in bulk. Advantages of bulk storage include:

  • Less physical storage address requirement
  • Quick access to containers
  • Clear configuration of the warehouse (in blocks and rows)
